A reminder from this month's npm supply-chain hit: your keys are only as safe as the machine they live on(reddit.com)
A widely used npm package got hijacked this month and shipped an infostealer to anyone who installed it. It swept browser sessions, password vaults, crypto wallets and seed phrases, and even config files for AI coding tools, all from the machine it ran on. The uncomfortable part for anyone in crypto: a seed phrase or a software wallet sitting on a connected dev or daily-driver machine is inside reach of whatever else runs there. The thing that stays out of range is a key that was generated offline and only ever signs offline, because it is not on that machine to steal. Not saying any one setup removes all risk. Just that separating where you sign from where you browse and build is one of the higher-leverage habits out there. Curious how people here keep those two environments apart. submitted by /u/ELLIPALWallet [link] [Kommentare]
(Noooob question) newbie and ig you all were there at this point in some point of time.(reddit.com)
Please suggest to me what the best apk (lowest market fees and to start with the smallest amount) also how can I increase my knowledge about crypto? Like what to buy today. Also I decided for the safer side I will monthly invest a fixed amount of money in Bitcoin. submitted by /u/bimaletwenty [link] [Kommentare]
How do you guys bridge in crypto?(reddit.com)
I haven’t done any bridging since 2021, and back then it was really stressful and a total pain in the ass. I just want to know what you guys are using these days. I came across Jumper and Debridge, but to swap an altcoin 1 to 1 like Polygon from BNB chain to Polygon chain it always seems to cost 1 to 2%, which I’d rather avoid. Do you always need to swap to USDC first before bridging so it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Is that just how it works? Also, I still use Metamask and I’m wondering if that’s outdated. I’ve tried Rabby a little, even though a lot of people said it’s way better, but I don’t really think it is. submitted by /u/Crafty-Barracuda-777 [link] [Kommentare]
Did we miss the bottom?(reddit.com)
Did we miss the bottom? Im salty bcuz I thought the july 14th fed announcement would tank crypto down a peg or two and give me a better buy price but that didnt happen. How long before we have a chance for it to drop again, the end of July announcement? I feel like the USA resuming the war should also have tanked it but the opposite happened. So why did the beginning of the war tank crypto but not the resuming of the war pumps crypto? Also the huge buy walls institutions have on btc or eth seems pretty tough to go further down and meanwhile eth has run up so far i dont think its going back to the $1,500's price this run. So what does everyone think have we missed the bottom? submitted by /u/Frosty_Blueberry3418 [link] [Kommentare]
