Ethereum May Be Massively Undervalued: TVL Just Surpassed ETH's Market Cap(reddit.com)
Ethereum seems highly undervalued! For the first time in history, the value locked ON Ethereum is bigger than the value OF Ethereum itself! ETH fully diluted market cap: ~$210B Total value locked: ~$260B The blue area just crossed above the orange line The economy running on the chain now outweighs the asset securing it. That has never happened before, not even in the depths of 2022! Either the Ethereum economy is overbuilt, or ETH is underpriced. DeFi veteran Gauntlet raises $125 million from Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings(reddit.com)
A startup founded during the early days of DeFi is now backed by a financial giant. Gauntlet, which helps institutions and crypto firms allocate their digital assets, raised $125 million from the Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Holdings, the startup’s founder and CEO Tarun Chitra told Fortune. The round closed in June and had no other participants, he said, declining to specify at what valuation he raised the money. The fundraise is the biggest infusion of capital into Gauntlet since its founding in 2018 and dwarfs the startup’s Series B in 2022, when it raised almost $24 million at a $1 billion valuation in a round led by the marquee fintech investor Ribbit Capital. SBI, which was spun off from SoftBank in 1999 and is now fully independent, is one of the most active institutional investors in digital assets. Worth more than $10 billion on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the company has bought up stakes in the crypto lender Morpho, the blockchain company Ripple, and the stablecoin issuer Circle. “I really think this year SBI will increase our investment activities and even operational activities in the U.S., because of the clarity on regulation and pro-crypto, pro-innovation, pro-competition environment,” Kefei Lin, general manager at SBI, told Fortune. A brutal lesson in crypto: crypto user lost nearly $1 million in $USDT after signing a phishing token approval on Ethereum(reddit.com)
Well a classic approval phishing. User signed malicious token approval on phishing site, enabling scammers to drain exactly 999,999 USDT from their Ethereum wallet in 3 multicall txs (Scam Sniffer) It came through an approval, a standard ERC-20 permission that lets another address spend tokens from a user's wallet Remember folks, always revoke approvals regularly at revoke.cash submitted by /u/ocean_protocol [link] [Kommentare]
Sony gets conditional US trust bank nod for Dollar Stablecoins(reddit.com)
Sony Bank received conditional approval to set up Connectia Trust as a US subsidiary capitalized at $40 million. I think their plan is to issue and manage dollar-denominated stablecoins, with early signals pointing toward payments in games and anime-related services. Full operations still require final regulatory clearance. I believe it could draw in users already comfortable with Sony’s entertainment and gaming products, since a familiar name might lower the barrier compared to standalone crypto apps. If the stablecoins integrate directly into those services, some spending that currently happens off-chain could move on-chain in those verticals. One path forward is that other consumer-facing brands watch the process and decide the regulatory route looks workable, leading to more similar setups over the next year or two. What else do you guys think would need to happen for wider adoption in actual spending? submitted by /u/Toriunderhill [link] [Kommentare]
I created a free tool to simply analise cripto(reddit.com)
Hello guys I built a free tool that explains crypto projects in plain English for beginners. It pulls public market/project data and turns it into a simple score, strengths, red flags and risk summary. I’d love some feedback please. The tool is in the comments because the post is being flagered as spam Thanks you so much submitted by /u/monferre [link] [Kommentare]
