How I lost $4M by simply using MEXC(reddit.com)
Im basically never using CEX usually, Im mostly using p2p over the years. But ive had quite a nice real estate deal and i needed to sell some BTC for USDT fast so I decided to use MEXC as here, everybody uses it, full KYC done, everything clean. The moment I deposited, funds got locked instantly, cant trade, cant withdraw, nothig.. Its been 3 weeks now, support going in circles asking for proof of funds I just dont have (old p2p coins from 2015/etc, while i provided as much documents as i have). Deadline is coming and I might lose the deal over this. Been reading over reddit and seems it happens a lot. Anyone managed to unlock in a similar situation? Should I que then? advices appreciated submitted by /u/zeac064 [link] [Kommentare]
Wife of FTX Exec Salame to Face Campaign Finance Charges(reddit.com)
> Article highlight. Manhattan federal judge George Daniels on Wednesday denied Bond’s bid to dismiss an indictment that alleged she illegally took money from the now-bankrupt crypto exchange FTX to help bankroll her unsuccessful run for Congress in 2022. Daniels wrote there was “no ambiguity” in the terms of Salame’s written plea agreement. “As the evidence made clear, all parties, including the defendants and their counsel, were aware that the Government had not promised Bond's immunity by the time Salame entered his guilty plea,” he said. submitted by /u/zesushv [link] [Kommentare]
Do you have any tips regarding Grid-Bot?(reddit.com)
After more than two years of spot trading, I'd like to shift more towards bots. I set up my first bot on SUI three days ago. Since this is new to me, I'd like to gather your experiences. Is there a "perfect" grid spacing? Which currencies are generally suitable for bots? Do you have any suggestions for improving the current bot? submitted by /u/Be_a_N3rd [link] [Kommentare]
Born Dead: Why Bitcoin is an Economic Corpse(reddit.com)
Generally speaking, we know that something which is dead cannot do anything, give anything, or help anyone. In economics, a "dead asset" is one that can no longer give something. Think of a bankrupt company, a defaulted bond, a hyperinflationary currency, a corrupted digital file, a rotten apple, or a totaled car. They offer either nothing or very little to the buyer. All of these things were born alive but eventually died. But what if there is something that was born dead, yet people treat it like a fountain of life? What if people believe it gives so much that trillions of dollars must be spent just to acquire it? This is Bitcoin. You can call it money, currency, digital gold, a token, or a stock, but none of that cellophane packaging can change the fact that it is dead; that it cannot give anything to anyone. When you buy a car, it gives transportation. A digital song gives entertainment. Gold gives luster, conductivity, and resistance to corrosion. When you buy a unit within a system, that system gives you something. A company that issues shares gives shareholders dividends, or funds through share buybacks and liquidations. PayPal or a casino gives dollars or euros to the holders of its units. Debtors to the commercial and central banks, who received loans in the form of dollars or euros, give products, services, labor, or tax settlements to money holders before repaying those loans. This is what it means for an item or a system to be economically alive. But when you buy Bitcoin units, the system gives nothing back. Whether you hold 0.001 BTC or 1,000 BTC, you will never receive anything from Bitcoin’s creator or from the network. The creator merely wrote a protocol for assigning units, while the network simply maintains those units and prevents their duplication. And obviously, you neither bought a usable physical or digital item in proportion to these assignments. Therefore, Bitcoin is economically dead. It is as dead now as it was the day it was born. All the energy, money, and goods that people sacrifice just to hold it simply means they are paying to hold a corpse. It is a bizarre economic ritual of the modern era. submitted by /u/BinaryLyric [link] [Kommentare]
Is The Real Opportunity In RWAs The Asset Or The Workflow?(reddit.com)
Everyone talks about tokenizing assets. Should we be talking more about improving financial workflows instead? Putting an asset onchain is interesting. Making financing, approvals, and capital allocation faster might be even more valuable. Some of the recent work coming out of W3 got me thinking about this. If you had to choose, which creates more value: tokenization itself or the workflows built around it? submitted by /u/Ge_Yo [link] [Kommentare]
Trump Spent Two Years Trying to Get Rate Cuts - The Attempt Is Why He Cannot Have Them(reddit.com)
Goodhart's Law: when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. The Fed's rate projections were a measure of where policy was heading. The moment Trump made them a political target, they stopped reflecting reality and started reflecting intention. The market priced the intention. Reality reasserted itself. submitted by /u/zakoal [link] [Kommentare]
BNB Chain welcomes ColbFinance with $60M in tokenized pre-IPO positions(reddit.com)
TL;DR for anyone who doesn’t click: Swiss tokenization platform ColbFinance has launched on BNB Chain with $60M+ in tokenized pre-IPO assets, giving users onchain exposure to private companies like SpaceX through tokenized certificates. The article argues BNB Chain was a natural fit because of its low fees, deep liquidity, and large user base, making it easier to bring traditionally exclusive assets onchain. The bigger picture is that RWAs and tokenized equities are starting to move beyond stablecoins and treasuries, and BNB Chain is becoming one of the places where that expansion is happening. submitted by /u/FTXACCOUNTANT [link] [Kommentare]
HyperFund promoter Bitcoin Rodney admits role in $1.8B crypto fraud(reddit.com)
> Except from article. Federal prosecutors said Burton participated in the operation between June 2020 and January 2022 and received at least $7.8 million from the scheme. Court documents state that Burton controlled several companies that purported to offer consulting services while helping market HyperFund to investors. Prosecutors alleged he used investor funds for personal enrichment during his involvement with the platform. Federal authorities have scheduled Burton’s sentencing for July 23. He faces a maximum prison term of five years for conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business. submitted by /u/zesushv [link] [Kommentare]
Pow/PoS(reddit.com)
I found a new coin recently that I aped in and it really got me thinking about a lot. When BTC first came on the scene with PoW concept, crypto bros were eager to mine it. Not necessarily because of the value potential, but because it was an interesting tech and wanted to learn…a fun hobby. Over the years as BTC grew, other models came out that were PoS etc to shift away from the labor involved, but in my opinion those have been deterrents from widespread participation and community. Mining is real work/labor and therefore there is a spiritual commitment as well as financial investment. Other proofs like PoS remove the emotional connection from you and the coin and now you only see dollars and cents. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to create a token that embraces both and restores some faith to real communities while at the same time allows for users to easily generate rewards. I found one I think is super interesting project but curious if you guys know of any coins that have a multifaceted rewards system that will actually generate long term community. Not gonna share the coin in because I don’t want you all to think I’m shilling. Genuinely trying to have a conversation about what the next potential BTC could be submitted by /u/MC_SKWAIRD [link] [Kommentare]
