How to know where to use Seed words?(reddit.com)

I found a handwritten list of 25 common words “Horse, Music, Pudding…” inside a used book I bought at a market, and I know they are used for Crypto wallets but When I tried to put them inside my metamask app they were too many, we tried on a friend wallet app as well and it also was too many.
