Im basically never using CEX usually, Im mostly using p2p over the years. But ive had quite a nice real estate deal and i needed to sell some BTC for USDT fast so I decided to use MEXC as here, everybody uses it, full KYC done, everything clean. The moment I deposited, funds got locked instantly, cant trade, cant withdraw, nothig.. Its been 3 weeks now, support going in circles asking for proof of funds I just dont have (old p2p coins from 2015/etc, while i provided as much documents as i have). Deadline is coming and I might lose the deal over this. Been reading over reddit and seems it happens a lot. Anyone managed to unlock in a similar situation? What does it say about an industry, if amongst the top 10 crypto projects (excl. stablecoins), one is a meme about a dog and the other had an "infinity-create-coin-bug" in its system since the beginning of the project. I'm not usually the type to jump straight to conspiracy theories, but the price action has been extremely suspicious. Multiple times, I've entered a position and the market has moved exactly as I expected shortly afterward. Yet right before the move in my favor, there's often a sudden spike in the opposite direction that would be enough to stop me and likely many other retail traders and get us out of the trade. A developer friend once told me he had an opportunity to work for a firm in the Netherlands that specialized in exploiting retail traders' positions and liquidity. Whether that's what's happening here, I can't say for certain. Maybe it's coincidence, maybe it's market makers hunting liquidity, or maybe something else is going on. I am a 19 yo finance student, I have been making some money on my own for almost 5 years, and I have worked with very different strategies and markets. My experience is short, my capital is average for my age And I'm in the early years of training, but I'm not new to this either.
