Invested 5000$ properly for the first time(reddit.com)
I've been in the cryptosphere since 2018 but I never put serious money or hold it properly for long term. All I did was occasionally trading meme coin with 100$ or 200$ but nothing above 400$. With the rising usage of AI and my job being at risk (Software Engineer) I feel like now is the perfect time to buy and hodl for the future because the future doesn't look very good with AI around. Now that I have a proper job and proper saving, I have decided to buy a cold wallet and put some of my life saving into cryptocurrency and keep it in my safe and DCA from this time onward. Here's what I invested: - 3000$ on Bitcoin - 1000$ in Ethereum - 1000$ in Solana The most trust I have between these 3 is Bitcoin because it seems to be the one who's doing well the most in term of long time period. Excited to join the hodl family and cheer! submitted by /u/RudeDragonfly4408 [link] [Kommentare]
Uniswap's fee switch vote starts today with announcements from other protocols coming in(reddit.com)
Uni holders are voting on activating the fee switch on robinhood chain starting today and the first test of whether uni holders get any protocol revenue instead of only governance. Also worth watching: morpho midnight (their fixed rate lending app) ships in the next few days, derive is rolling out v3 as their biggest upgrade yet, and pendle is doing a roadmap call on july 22. Other things is the clarity act could hit the senate floor as soon as next week per congressman Bryan Steil. anyone actually voting on the Uni proposal or just watching from the sidelines? submitted by /u/Bluejumprabbit [link] [Kommentare]
BTC’s got a death cross and a record 60 day negative Coinbase premium, but Armstrong’s calling $60K the bottom. My read: not yet.(reddit.com)
Been chewing on the BTC setup this weekend and it’s a mixed one. On paper it looks rough. Death cross confirmed, still ~12% under the 200-day, and the Coinbase premium’s been negative 60 days straight, a record. Counterweight is Armstrong calling $60K the floor, MACD ticking up, and a ~7% bounce off the June low. So not a clean short either. What kills it for me is volume. The bounce is running on maybe half the average, so there’s no conviction behind it. And Warsh’s Fed isn’t cutting anytime soon with a live FOMC end of month. Hard to get excited about risk into that. So I’m holding for now. Is anyone buying? submitted by /u/Whalespout [link] [Kommentare]
It's not just Bitcoin: every major chain uses the same quantum-vulnerable signatures, and Ethereum is arguably more exposed(reddit.com)
Secure yourself with 5 steps: 1. Use a modern HD wallet. Any current hardware or standard software wallet generates a fresh address per receive - that alone puts you in the safe column. 2. Never reuse an address you have spent from. Spending reveals the public key forever; anything left behind sits in the exposed pile. 3. If you hold coins on old or reused addresses, move them once to a freshly generated modern address. That single transaction takes them out of the harvest-now-decrypt-later pool. 4. Watch for the upgrade, not the headlines. The milestone that matters is a quantum-resistant address type going live (BIP-360 or a successor) - adopt it when it ships. Chip announcements with bigger qubit counts are not the signal. 5. Do not panic-sell on quantum news. The threat is a solvable, years-away engineering problem the ecosystem is already working on - a reason for hygiene, not for exit. full version with the tables at https://gmdmarkets.com/does-quantum-threaten-bitcoin submitted by /u/Prestigious-Bank2145 [link] [Kommentare]
The attacker behind the May $5.8M TrustedVolumes exploit has returned 1,122 ETH (~$2M)(reddit.com)
Original exploit (May 7, 2026): TrustedVolumes (an independent DeFi liquidity provider and RFQ market maker used by 1inch Fusion) lost approximately $5.87M–$6.7M in a single transaction. The stolen assets were ~1,291 WETH, 206k USDT, ~17 WBTC, and ~1.27M USDC. The attacker (same operator behind the March 2025 1inch Fusion V1 exploit) used a vulnerability in TrustedVolumes’ custom RFQ swap proxy. Recent development (July 17, 2026): One of the exploiter’s wallets sent 1,122.12 ETH (≈ $2.068 million at the time) back to a TrustedVolumes-controlled address. Need cash but hate deciding which crypto position to cut(reddit.com)
I need some cash for recent family expenses and an upcoming move, and I'd rather not put everything on a credit card. The timing just feels awful because I wasn't planning to sell anything right now. Most of my BTC and ETH are part of my long-term holdings, and I try not to touch them unless it's for a major expense. The last time I sold any was to help pay for a car. I also have a much smaller perpetual futures position that I opened a few weeks ago, but it hasn't reached the profit level I was hoping for. Now I'm stuck deciding whether to close that position or sell a small portion of my long-term holdings instead. Looking back, I definitely wish I'd kept a larger cash emergency fund instead of being in this position. For those who've had to raise cash unexpectedly, how did you decide what to sell? Did you protect your long-term investments and close shorter-term trades first, or did you take a different approach? submitted by /u/Street_Area1297 [link] [Kommentare]
