WE WEAR FACES TO BE SAVED
Some masks are not worn to deceive others.
They are worn to survive them.
We smile while something inside us is collapsing. We perform confidence when we feel afraid. We become whatever the room expects, hoping one of those borrowed faces will finally make us feel safe.
But every mask leaves another reflection behind.
A locked box holds the identities we have collected. A key waits beside it. In the distance, beyond the dark doorway, the forgotten self is still standing there.
The hidden question is not which face belongs to us.
It is whether we are brave enough to stop performing.
